A new shop entrance

In 2007 the traditional shop Ullman commissioned the architects Nickel and Wachter to redesign their pavilion. With the redesign the existing and problematic acess situation could be solved: A movable steel construction permits to fold out or retract and works both as canopy and front steps of the shop. This protects the shop door of vandalism and burglars. More inventive details: The steps of the retractable staircase can covered with wood during summertime and with a non-slip grating during winter.
