Transformation of a Space – Intro

The tile manufacturer FIANDRE initiated the project ‘Transformation of a Space’ in order to develop a new spatial concept for their exhibition space in the former chocolate factory Sarotti in Berlin. The architect Volker Halbach (blauraum) and the curator Sally Below (sbca) develop together with three design teams the redesign of the 1.100 m² space from June 2015 until June 2016. The main topic is ‘surface’, the format of the workshops set: Wednesday begins with an introduction to the space, Thursday is for debate and the development of the design, which is presented on Friday accompanied by a presentation and a party.
