Frei Otto. Thinking by Modeling

The fourth video of the exhibition on Frei Otto at ZKM Karlsruhe introduces the architect’s eco-houses.

With the so-called eco-houses Frei Otto (1925-2015) combined public green with private spaces. He thereby redeveloped the concept of urban density and ecological free space.

As one of the internationally most renowned German architects of the 20th century, Frei Otto received the Pritzker Architecture Price last year. The exhibition Frei Otto. Thinking by Modeling at ZKM, which was presented until March 2017, payed tribute to his innovative and unique mode of practice.
