Haunted Landsapes
Where do we find intersections between the housing struggles against displacement processes at Hermannplatz and everyday practices supporting the agency of non-human beings? Which role do neighborhood walks and a sewing class at Mehringplatz play in these struggles? Through a fictional scenario, five stories of becoming contaminated, entangled, and recomposed are interrelated. Stories that tell of assemblages between human and non-human beings, technologies and cracks of the city — They are narratives without individual protagonists, without suspense and heroic endings. Stories that instead tell about care, responsibility and self-empowerment and that propose a future that is possible because it is already there.
