Living as an urban roof

The cube houses (Kubuswoningen) in Rotterdam were designed by Piet Blom in the late 70s, with the concept of ‘living as an urban roof’: high density housing with sufficient space on the ground level. An individual cube represents a tree and collectively they form a forest.

This video is what could be salvaged from a much more ambitious project. Unfortunately, when the filmmaker arrived in Rotterdam to make this documentary, he lost his camera and shot the resulting video entirely on his iPhone.
