Planning Garage

The Dragoner area in Berlin-Kreuzberg has long been a site of struggle for the possibility of a self-governed, communal housing and the attempt to protect the area from privatization. The area belongs to the city of Berlin now. The initiative City from Below installed a planning garage: the garage is an archive, work place, projection surface and event furniture – to develop strategies and ideas for the model project „self-governed and communal“. Here one can communicate how the area can develop hand in hand with the 100% claims of City from Below: 100% renting, 100% participation, 100% social rents, 100% lasting protection. urbanfilmlab accompanies the process.
