Bauwelt Kongress 2017

Metropolitan culture – the future of high-rise residential buildings?
“Die Metropolenkultur – Zukunft Wohnhochhaus?”

Cloud palace or “uninvited guest that has suddenly sat down again at the table of urban planning” (Kaye Geipel)? Investment project or place for a “metropolitan culture” (Dominique Perrault) that wants to promise itself a future through the way of living?

Berlin – 2017. The fourth Bauwelt Kongress brings together various actors from the industrial and construction sectors, as well as climate, energy or building materials technology to discuss the topic of `residential high-rise buildings´ and their use in a more sustainable und socially equitable future.
“The high-rise residential building [can be] the practice of a new kind of solidarity – residential solidarity […], in a society that is under ecological pressure. A society that needs to bring together social diversity and also a society that wants to promise itself a future through the way it lives.” (Heinz Bude)
