German Mining Museum
In the heart of the “Ruhr”, Bochum has one of the most important mining museums. 2009, the spectacular expansion of Benthem Crouwel Architects from Amsterdam was completed. The building with its distinctive deep black and sparkling in sunlight façade presents itself in section as a tunnel system. The exhibition space in the new building is on two floors and connected with the existing building with bridges.
