IBA Campus Thüringen – Hotel Egon

An icon of industrial modernism and the only building by architect Egon Eiermann in Thuringia – the Egon Eiermann Building in Apolda as the new residence of the IBA Thüringen. In the course of the Hotel Egon project, the IBA Campus and the design-build network ConstructLab called on young creatives from various disciplines to design and create temporary hotel rooms and furniture for future guests and tenants in 2018. From August 5 to 19, rooms, furniture, textiles, films and texts were produced, in 2018. The result: innovative and sustainable prototypes for the emerging Open Factory in the Eiermannbau and two weeks of inspiring, cooperative and creative experiences.
