London Design Biennale 2016

Modeled after the Architecture and Art Biennales in Venice, the London Design Biennale presented a range of contemporary perspectives, exploring big questions and ideas about sustainability, technology, migration, renewable energy, cities, and social equality. More than 35 countries from six continents presented new installations under the theme of Utopia by Design.

The Albanian Institute New York was pleased to represent Albania with a sculptural installation by Albanian artist Helidon Xhixha. A concentric arrangement of columns encourages the visitors to reflect upon the role of Europe, its voids and migration politics and invites people to sit and gather.
