Olympic Stadium Berlin

Designed by Werner March in 1936 the site remains a monument. All the required new buildings are located underground outside the stadium. With its quiet design and the material selection of the surfaces the new roof drops off the solid tectonics of the historic stadium construction. The roof is designed as a lightweight steel construction with a membrane as the upper and lower roof. Inside, the roof is supported by 20 steel columns, which are designed ultra slim: 25 cm diameter.
