Qingpu Youth Center

The Youth Center in Qingpu is located in the newly planned Eastern district of the city. In response to the homogenizing effects of the area’s new zoning regulations, the design introduces varying scales of volume in accordance with the traditional section of Qingpu. The various functions of the youth center are “decomposed” into single volumes and connected with a network of small streets, squares, courtyards, and parks – Employing the idea of a city in a building.
