Treehouse

This treehouse was built as a part of a sculpture trail in Holzhausen, Westfalia in 2006.

A team of around 30 people from all over the world realised the project in 1,5 months, with an average of 6 people a day. A group of 16 students from the Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe, department of architecture and interior design in Detmold was participating in the project.

The house is a sphere 4 meters in diameter covered with 7000 hand made shingles of larch. It goes up and down an ash tree and can be winched from the interior to the hight of 12 meters. The ascension takes about 3/4 of an hour of hard work.
