Event Landscape

Craig Nener developed Event Landscape as part of his postgraduate studies at the University of Western Australia in the studio: Our smart home is on fire.

Inspired by Paul Virilio’s ‘accident of knowledge’ and the superfluity of digital information and data on the net, Craig constructed a mise en scène of this ‘event landscape’ into a physical manifestation of architecture to be observed and felt, through tele-tectonic moments. A spatially fascinating yet disturbing encounter of our own disastrous actions and digital reactions, posing the question: What if the reactionary response to the accidents of the twenty-first century caused an accident of its own?
