culture of abandonment
This photo film by Enzo Crispino explores the ‘Culture of Abandonment’ in the territory of Reggio Emilia, Italy, which has left many examples from intensive urban construction to abandoned industrial warehouses exposed to deterioration, which often become places of shelter and refuge to the new poverty. The face of the urban environment has changed radically. Crispino portrays the disco “Marabu Music Hall” located on the Via Emilia as a concrete example. From a popular meeting place in the 70s and 80s it has turned into a place of degradation and abandonment.
