Checkpoint in the West Bank
This short film portrays a few minutes in the early morning routine of hundreds of Palestinian men, who on a daily basis, cross from Bethlehem in the West Bank into Jerusalem. Their journey, while not of great geographic distance, can take hours due to unpredictable security climates. While the security barrier, commonly referred to as “the Wall” is defined by the Israeli military as a temporary installation, its effects on the urban space and economic behavior of these West Bank residents is profound.
